Arcade Terms of Service.
These Terms govern the use of the NexDam Arcade mobile app. The main NexDam Terms of Service cover the website and the technical services, which are a different matter entirely: those concern paid work, this concerns a free game.
1. Acceptance
By installing or using the app you accept these Terms and the Arcade Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
NexDam is a personal software project operated under the NexDam name. It is not a company, and the app is not sold.
2. What the app is
NexDam Arcade is a free collection of small games about cybersecurity, cloud, networking and AI. It is made to entertain and, along the way, to teach real concepts.
It is not a course, a certification, a security tool, or professional advice. Winning a game proves nothing about the security of a real system.
3. Account
The app is fully playable without an account. Signing in is optional and serves only to save progress across devices and to take part in leaderboards.
The account is the same one used on nexdam.it: there is no separate Arcade account. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for what happens under your account.
4. Free, with no purchases
The app is free. There are no in-app purchases, no subscriptions, no advertising, and no paid feature. Nothing in the app can be bought, and nothing asks for a payment method. If you ever encounter something inside the app that asks you to pay, it is not the app: report it to me.
5. Credits, experience and progress
Credits, experience points, levels and badges exist only inside the app. They have no monetary value, cannot be bought, sold, transferred or converted into anything, and confer no right or claim of any kind.
I do my best to preserve progress, but I cannot guarantee it: a bug, a data loss, or a change to how a game scores may alter or reset it. Guest progress lives only on your device and disappears when the app is uninstalled.
6. Fair play
You agree not to:
- Alter the app, the traffic it exchanges, or the stored data to obtain scores, badges or credits that were not earned by playing.
- Use automated tools to play in your place or to inflate results.
- Choose a username that is offensive, impersonates someone else, or infringes third-party rights.
- Attempt to access other people's accounts or data.
Leaderboard entries obtained in these ways may be removed, and the account suspended, without notice.
7. Educational content
The games are inspired by real scenarios and simplified to be playable. The facts and explanations shown after a run are provided for general information only. They do not replace professional advice, a security audit, or the documentation of the technologies mentioned, and must not be relied upon to make decisions about real systems.
8. Intellectual property
The app, its games, graphics, texts and design belong to NexDam. Music and sound are used under their respective licences. You may install and use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes; you may not redistribute it, resell it, decompile it or derive works from it, except where the law allows regardless.
The name NexDam and the associated marks may not be used without permission.
9. Availability
The app is provided as is and as available. Some features — account, leaderboards, cloud sync — require a network connection and depend on third-party services. There is no guaranteed uptime, and games, features or the app itself may be modified or discontinued at any time.
The app is distributed as an APK from the official NexDam channels. Copies obtained elsewhere may have been modified: I take no responsibility for them.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, I am not liable for indirect damages, loss of data or of game progress, or for interruptions of the service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law — including in cases of wilful misconduct or gross negligence, and consumer rights that apply regardless.
11. Termination
You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it, and request deletion of your account by writing to contact@nexdam.it. I may suspend an account that breaches these Terms.
12. Applicable law
These Terms are governed by Italian law. If you use the app as a consumer, you keep the mandatory protections of the law of your country of residence, and may bring proceedings before the court of your place of residence.
13. Changes
These Terms may change. The date at the top says when, and the current text is always available here and inside the app. Continuing to use the app after a change means accepting the new version.
